The 2000 Year Epic Campaign
Ao is the one and only god. No other came before him, and no other will come after him.
Ao is a complex god and many people worship different aspects of him. Some pray to Ao before they step into battle, invoking the warrior aspect , while others may pray to Ao to watch over their herd acknowledging his nature aspect.
Ao does not speak to mortals and only a very few people have been able to receive limited divine help from him in the form of divine spells.
Session #1.5 (1st to 2nd Era) – At this point a Temple of Ao the Warrior is built in the coastal village of Elon. Those who are worthy make a pledge to uphold the ideals of Ao and dedicate their lives to the church. They are known as the Elon Devout.
Session #5 (2nd Era) – When the Champions of Elon boarded Skyland there was some thoughts that they could meet Ao once and for all. But instead they found a small town where unknown humanoids used to live. Acolyte Gallus in particular was disappointed that this myth did not come true.
Session #8 (3rd Era) – The crew of the Sea Word saw evidence of the worship of Ao outside of Brind-Amor for the first time and met a gnomish researcher, Elza Crinkletoes, who specializes in ancient cultures who believes that their is proof of a civilization that existed before the current one.
Session #13 (3rd Era) – While escaping with the Arethrion Elves under the town of Savarius, the group came across a statue of Ao that had strange slash marks across it. Triton went into a trace when he saw it, and was unable to help fend off the Corrupting Ooze that attacked. Later he mentioned that he thought he has seen this exact statue before but wasn’t sure where.
Session #15 (3rd Era) – Following up on a rumor that former crewmembers of the United Pride were outside of the town of Scalaycium, the crew found the ruins of a temple once dedicated to Ao. Here the learned that this temple was dedicated and ran by Ravoroth of Decius, which is the spirit that lives inside of Triton 714.
