Slave Branding

A branding mark left behind by a salt devil. The victim of this branding becomes sick immediately, although recovery is only a few days long. There is a general sense of unease towards the person with the slave brand from others around them.

Session #11 (3rd Era) – Captain Jaffe was subject to this branding from a salt devil during a Scourge ambush aboard the Sea Word. The crew has already become wary of him now.

Session #12 (3rd Era) – Captain Jaffe suffered through a horrible vision of hell and his 100-year imprisonment there, enduring a great deal of pain and losing his mind. The vision only lasted a few minutes and the captain found himself back aboard the Sea Word. The crew has started to avoid him now.

Session #13 (3rd Era) – Captain Jaffe continues to suffer from nightmares, in the latest one the Scourge-man tells him that the halfling’s soul is already his.

Session #14 (3rd Era) – Knowing that his life was spiraling out of control, Captain Jaffe handed over control of the Sea Word to Saeryn Ravenclaw, former captain of the United Pride. Jaffe became the unofficial “Admiral” of the Sea Word.

Session #16 (3rd Era) – In return for helping free the Chronomancer, Talison Jaffe was finally rid of the nightmares associated with slave brand. Although he still bears the physical mark, he is no longer plagued with visions of hell.
