The 2000 Year Epic Campaign
A notorious and ruthless band of pirates known to sail around the Styrc Isles. So far, they have been unable to breach the canopy of Geargrind Island but they have controlled the seas of the area, limited the gnomes ability travel to other islands. Their ships sail with red and white stipes on their sails and the crewmen where the below tattoo on their arms to show their allegiance.
Typical pirates of this organization include humans, half-elves, kenku, and orcs although it is unknown where they come from since now of them are native to the Styrc Isles.
Today (4th Era), the Tempest Swarm is no longer a pawn of the Decius Empire as they were in the time of the Emperor. Today they are a loosely associated group that operations on the fringes of the Great War.
Session #8 (3rd Era) – The Master Tinker of Geargrind Island gave the crew of the Sea Word a Letter of Marque to hunt down and destroy these pirates around the Styrc Isles. While they rescued Elza Crinkletoes from Ao’s Well, they have destroyed the Soaring Waves, killed Captain Chaza, and took a handful of prisoners back to Geargrind Island.
Session #9 (3rd Era) – The Sea Word crew interrogated the captured pirates before turning them over to the gnomes of Geargrind Island. They learned that they are led by a man named Kaithor Blacksail, there are seven pirate ships in the Styrc Isles, and they have hideouts in Jagged Isle and Razor Spine Isle, and Ao’s Well.
Session #10 (3rd Era) – The Sea Word tailed the Pillage back to their base on Jagged Isle where they wiped out the pirates and sunk the Pillage. Here they learned that the Galerius Brotherhood of the Decius Empire seem to be pulling the strings behind the Tempest Swarm. They also saw a list of the remaining pirate ships in the area:
Session #12 (3rd Era) – The Sea Word won the Battle of Geargrind Island and thus eradicated the Tempest Swarm (all seven ships) from the Styrc Isles for good.
Session #23 (4th Era) – Captain Cimris of the Nightingale, transported Ethne from Dunbar Town to Zatha and remained in the area after. Later, Ethne would return to the Nightingale to ask Captain Cimris to take Todrick and Emily Chespian to safety.
